Peterborough Junior Championships

We entered girls at WJ13 1x, WJ14 1x and WJ13 4x+ into Peterborough Junior Championships. We had high hopes for all of the crews.
All of the girls raced really hard.
Becky Henry faced 12 crews in the Wj13 1x event and won her heat easily to secure a good lane in the semi final. Here she set a good pace and eased her way to front. Unfortunately she then caught a big crab and saw the other boats go past her. She fought back but ran out of water just before overtaking the second placed boat so did not qualify for the final.
Jocelyn P-B in the Wj14 1x event faced 11 crews. First place went straight to the final and second to the repercharge. She soon find herself battling for the 2nd position and over the last 250m gave everything she had but unfortuantely caught a crab with 20m to go. She then went swimming so did not finish the race.
The WJ13 4x+ competed against 3 other crews in the first round and successfully finished in 2nd place. They moved into the final to race 2 crews they had already raced and a fourth crew. They worked hard to finish in bronze medal position.
